794 thousand foreign tourists visited Albania in the month of April 2024, bringing the total number of incoming tourist flows in our country to more than 2.3 million in the first 4 months of the year. Minister Mirela Kumbaro announced the figures today, adding that the Ministry of Tourism and Environment is coordinating with public institutions and the private sector to manage the high flows and the smooth running of the season.

“About 800,000 foreign tourists visited our country in April, bringing the number of incoming tourist flows to 2.3 million in the first months of 2024, or +38% more than last year, while #MTM, in collaboration with public institutions and the private sector, is working intensively for a summer tourist season with priority; safety, cleanliness and raising standards of service in sustainable development,” writes Minister Kumbaro on her official website.

A few days ago, Kumbaro also announced the number of certified marine tour operators, which is over 110, and over 600 certified tour guides, as a must for safe tourism. At the Tourism Safety Conference held at the end of April, the priorities for this season were also listed, from cleanliness in tourist areas, inspections of marine vehicles by the Border Police fleet, the opening of 34 summer health centers, food safety, etc. According to private tour operators, about 30% more foreign visitors are expected in 2024 than in 2023, which ended with 10.1 million foreign tourists.
